I am still alive, much more domestic, but alive nonetheless.
I am however going to try and use this damned journal to keep in touch with old friends, I have found I miss them far to much to not listen to them rant or hear about their daily adventures.
If you have any idea who I am, what rock I crawled out from under, respond with your latest journal name and lets see if I can keep up.
Next month my daughter is going to be 1 year old. I need to figure out where/how I can post pictures to share how much she has grown up. |

Dear Santa...
Dear Santa,
This year I've been busy!
Last Wednesday I put gum in mesmerix's hair (-12 points). In July I put money in silent_lady's expired parking meter (14 points). Last Thursday I pulled over and changed gabrielrose's flat tire (15 points). Last month I ruled Iran as a kind and benevolent dictator (700 points). Last Sunday I ate my brussel sprouts (1 points).
Overall, I've been nice (718 points). For Christmas I deserve a new dolly!
Sincerely, exodus53 |

I got promoted a couple of weeks ago, got a small raise with it, but the best part is the new job responsibilities which get me out of the day to day BS that I had to deal with before. I also got a new office on the 3rd floor with a nice view of the river. Yay me!
Audrey is almost 3 months old now, I can't believe how fast she has grown, she weighs 13 pounds and is over 24 inches long. She smiles a lot now and is starting to laugh a little. I am excited for her first Christmas, I know she won't really understand whats going on, but it's exciting nonetheless. We bought her a nice Christmas dress yesterday and we are going to go have pictures taken to send in our Christmas cards.
Not much else going on to really talk about, I haven't been to a Cam function in like...a long ass time, but I will probably renew my membership for the hell of it....I think it's due like really soon, better email Cat about it. I should really stop by one of those, I miss that group, even though it's changed so much...I don't even know who from the original crew goes anymore.
I went to the Ohio State/Michigan game...what a crock of shit...I haven't been to a football game this year that my team has won!!!!! Maybe I am bad luck?
Go Bears!!! I promise I won't go to any of your games |

Still in Switzerland, coming home on Friday (YAY!!!!! I get to see my daughter!!!!)
Was hoping to find an invite to the City of Villians beta in my inbox, but alas, my gaming skillz must not be tight enough.

East Side Instinct #322 - As long as no one is looking, or no cameras on you, anything within eyesight not bolted down is fair game. My one buddy's cousin even carried a pair of bolt cutters in his trunk, just in case it was. If you rode your bike to your friends house, it was mandatory to open the garage, and then lock the bike in. I had a friend who thought I was stupid for not leaving my bike out front with everyone else's, but a week later I still had my bike and he didn't.

| » Weekend Update with Jimmy |
While my birthday was on July 5th, my family decided that this weekend would be the time to celebrate it. Friday and Saturday would be filled with reminders that I am 30 years old....yay (insert dripping sarcasm). However, after it was all said and done, 30 wasn't so bad...it's 40 that scares me.
Friday after work I headed to see my father in Michigan. I only see him a few times a year even though he is retired, but he is living it up. He bought two timeshares and between those and his Las Vegas vacations he's never around to see me. Regardless, we headed up that way to visit, and he had a cake and a few of my aunts, uncles and cousins there to celebrate with me. I got a really nice grilling utensil set that I am sure I will use with my smoker. After cake we all walked down to the River Raisin Festival, got some fair food, played some games and watched a really great fireworks show. But all that walking around was tough on the pregnant wife so we headed home just before midnight.
Saturday, I got up and worked in the yard before it got hot outside, then relaxed and watched some movies before heading to my moms to meet them for dinner for my birthday. I got there and it was a surprise birthday party with some family and friends. My parents did a New Orleans style theme with a Clam Bake, Jamalaya, and Beer Can Chicken. The food was fabulous and the Hurricanes were tasty. We played some cards later and just sat around and shot the shit. It was a really nice time and I made sure to give mom a big hug for making the effort and giving me a great party.
Sunday I just rotted around the house and looked at a new mini van. But they were closed so I just went back home, rotted, played some City of Heroes and got to be early that night.
Now Monday isn't really part of the weekend, but I took the day off and went van shopping with my wife. We ended up coming home with a pimptastic 2003 Ford Explorer XLT. Loaded, with all the features a thug would like. Bigger wheels and tires, loud sound system, slick back look with all the chrome, side runners, 4x4....you name it. This thing has it.
I am very excited about my pimp-mobile. I will have to post a picture of it soon.
Anyway, back to work for me!!!
P.S. - Steph, I will be there don't worry!!!

| » The Tao of Shanteau (East Side Instincts Part 1) |
A guy I work with grew up on the east side of Toledo. It's a very rough part of town where you get to hear gunshots, white trash husbands beating up their wives and girlfriends...you get the picture. So the question is....do you have East Side Instincts. I get daily reminders from Mr. Shanteau, and I thought I would share them with everyone here also.
Enjoy
East Side Instinct #508 - Never mess with a bitch that has a mullet. There is a surprising amount of women on the East Side with Mullets and/or rat tails. The only area in the state that I have yet to see that even comes close to approaching these staggering numbers is Napoleon. At any rate, these women are tough, and can punch like Ivan Drago from Rocky IV. Unless you intend to be emasculated in front of your friends, ladies, or family, beware the she-mullet.

| » Yay for the weekend! |
I love quiet Fridays at work. Not a lot of people around because everyone is taking vacation right now, so things are a bit slow. But it's a nice change of pace. Tonight I have to head up to see my dad, he called me 2 days after my birthday and decided he wanted to see me now. Tomorrow it's off to mi madres as she had planned a couple weeks ago for us to head out to the Docks for my birthday. I had insisited that I didn't want some big shindig for my 30th and it seems that everyone respected that.
I think I might actually make it to a Cam event next week. mesmerix wants me to come out and play a certain NPC, and I would love to. I would also like to see the crew again, haven't seen them all for a while.
I started playing City of Heroes a few weeks ago, and I am really having fun with it. And the best part is I only play a few hours a week and not during primetime wife hours so I haven't gotten that fabled Evercrack addiction that I heard so much about when people were just getting way to into the MMORPG's.
For those who watch this journal...it's quiz time.
What is your most fun memory of me? Or do you remember when we first met?

| » Welcome!!!! |
Hello everyone who was actually reading my old journal. If you replied in any of my last few entries I automatically friended you on this journal and am now watching yoru journals with the same interest and respect you have done for me in the past.
In a few days I will probably lock the journal down since I don't really feel like putting my entire life (or whatever part I decide to share) on the internet for hte world to see.
I do however, plan to post more often and really use this as a journal....I ended up going back on my old journal and see the things I posted 3 and 4 years ago and noticing I really did a much better job of sharing my thoughts and feelings. So I plan to do that in this new journal. You won't see a ton of lemmings or tests, I won't bog you down with lots of that.
Thanks
- James
